The story of my double eagle, with pictures!
Hold the presses!!!! This just in. Here's the scenario. Playing golf with my bro in Lemoore, CA. About a three hour drive south of the bay area. We're on the second hole which is a par 5. I'm out there about 275 yards...on the right side of the fairway. The hole is 452 yards total. So I got 177 yards to the green. I'm thinking five iron and pull it out of my bag. I feel a gust of wind and put the five back in my bag and pull out my four iron. I put an average swing on it knowing I got plenty of club. While in the air it looks pretty good. As a matter of fact it's heading right for the hole. There is a gardener on the back of the green watering. When the ball comes down it disappears. I must have hit it over the green. We walk up and there's no site of it. The gardener says "nice shot". I say "sorry", thinking I must have almost hit him while my ball flew over the green. I say "where's the ball?". The gardener says "it's in the hole!" I said "no way", walk over to the hole and sure as $#!@ it's in the hole! So my brother and I are jumping around. The ball went directly into the hole on the fly, no bounce. They call that an Albatross aka double eagle. The rarest shot in the game. That's right...rarer than a hole in one...Tiger for a hole! Ended up with a 77, my best round ever : )
