I dont know how many are true all I know is that all the folks who stay in here always come out a little scared. Not to worry noone was ever hurt or anything just shaken up. If you dare come on in to hear some of the strange tales collected over time..............
GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Eddy's Place
Sharon McKlusky, a Boise housewife and mother, was tired after a particularly stressful day. She fed her three children their supper, then drew a hot bath. Water always had a calming and soothing effect upon her. She had just settled into the tub when the bathroom light went off. A second later, the light came back on and the bathwater turned ice cold!!
Later, Sharon told a local newspaper reporter that she had felt suspended in space, that the experience seemed unreal.
But that was only one of many"unreal" incidents in the old frame house at 200 East Idaho. It was believed to have been built in 1895 by the grandfather of the late Frank Church, who served in the U.S. Senate from 1956 to 1981. The elder Church and his wife, Mary, raised five children in the house. Their five-year old son, Clair, died a tragic death here from drinking turpentine he found in the garage.
After Mr. Church died in 1922, his widow and an unmarried daughter,Evangeline, remained in the house. Eventually Evangeline inherited the house and stayed on unyil her death in 1953. That same year Domingo Aldecoa and his wife bought the house to use as rental property. And they had many renters; most moved out after the first month....
Sharon moved in during 1970 and stayed for 3 years. She knew nothing of the history of the house, but she liked its spaciousness. The children had seperate bedrooms and there was plenty of room both indoors and outdoors to play. It was much better than being cooped up in a tiny city apartment. Besides, the rent was resonable. Sharon felt extremely fortunate.
Yet, the longer she stayed the more certain she was that something was wrong with the house. Sometimes while standing between the door of a bedroom and the door to the attic she felt a tingling sensation as if an electrical current had surged through her body.
Shapless forms moved across the walls, doors opened and closed by themselves, and radios clicked on and off and changed stations with no one near them. Sharon's children seemed not to notice anything unusual and she said nothing that might frighten them.
Then one day she heard a child's voice call out"I'm Eddy." It had seemed to come out of the walls. One of the children who had lived in the house at one time was Elmer Edmond. Although the little ghost child didnt materialize, Sharon began to feel vibrations whenever it moved through a room. She determined not to try to communicate with it. The little boy's presence was announced by the tingling of a tiny bell that sounded like no bell Sharon had ever heard. The bell rang on and off for six months, then stopped. The Church family had kept a harp in the parlor. Was that what Sharon heard???
One night a voice cried out,"
Help!
" Sharon froze in bed and prayed the voice would go away. It did. For 6 months there was no supernatural activity.
Sharon's children loved the house and often invited friends to spend the night. Sharon was happy to have them there. Maybe there was nothing frightening about the house after all; perhaps she had imagined the tingling, bell ringing, and the voices. She had been tired and upset when she moved her family into the house, and decided her imagination had run away with her. It hadn't....
Late one night Sharon was lying on the sofa in the livung room. Two sets of sliding doors divided this room from the dining roomon one side and the parlor on the other. All the doors were closed. Suddenly, letters began to appear across the bottom of one door. They came slowly, one after the other, but Sharon, to startled to move, recalled only seeing an A.
A round ball of light then floated across the room and as it twirled at high speed Sharon saw the sweet, smiling face of a little boy in the center of the light, It vanished as quickly as it had come.
But it reappeared several nights later when Sharon, two girlfriends, and the brother of one of the girls were visiting. They sat in the living room, a candle burning on one of the end tables. All of a sudden a rush of cold air blew through the room and extinguished the candle. The young man yelled that a ball of white light was whirling toward him. He ducked and saw the light pass through a wall. No one else had seen anything.
Sharon still was not at ease on the second floor. Every time she stood in the doorway of the bedroom that faced the attic door she became frightened for her childrens saftey.
One afternoon when Sharon and her 3 year old son were sitting in the back yard, he exclaimed, "Look Mama! Little boy in attic window!" She saw nothing but the sun reflecting off the glass.
When they went back inside, her son led her to the bedroom across from the attic door and said "He died in there." Sharon did not know who he meant, he said no more.
The family didnt use that room for sleeping because Sharon's older son had tried to sleep there the night they moved in and awoke screaming that he couldnt breathe. He said something was choking him.
Sharon stored trunks and suitcases in the room and some of the childrens toys that they played wiyh infrequently. One afternoon, needing a sweater out of a trunk, she stepped into the room and saw a little boy in one corner and a small woman in a white dress bending over him. Were they eddy and his mother? Sharon backed away.
Later, a friend of Sharons, who had psycic ability, entered the room and saw a bed in one corner and curtains at the windows. She saw eddy, who she said was harmless, but she also saw a bedridden old man who she said was evil. She said it was his ghost that created the chills that swept the house. Was he the one who called for help?
In 1972 Sharon rented rooms to two girls. The extra income would be welcome, and besides, little psycic activity was occuring. The renters were pleased and Sharon and her children enjoyed having them in the house. All went well until March 1973, when a man needing a place to stay approached Sharon. She explained that all her rooms were rented, and when he asked about the attic she told him that the house was haunted by a child ghost whi "lived " in the attic. The man Laughed.
The next day he moved a bed and all his gear into the attic. That night he felt uneasy and kept a light burning. The second night disaster struck!!!! At 6AM the man awakened in the midst of an inferno. The entire attic was on fire, but he was able to escape by jumping out a window. Although his injuries were not serious, he spent some time in the hospital.
Before the fire department could bring the blaze under control it had destroyed the second floor also. Firemen listed faulty wiring as the cause, but Sharon and her close friends were convinced it was astral arson. Had Eddy resented an interloper in his living quarters? And what was had the evil old man played in the fire?
The McKluskeys and their two woman roomers found a suitable house to rent and began the process of clearing out everythigh that could be salvaged.
Jim, one of Sharon's friends who had scoffed at her superstitious fears, offered to clean out the basement. As he started down the wooden stairway, he screamed that a step had broken, He plunged to the basement floor.
Seconds later, Jim, bruised and shaken, sat up and glanced at the stairway. There was no broken step!!!!
On March 15, 1973, bulldozers leveled the remains of the old Church house...................
