Well, here I am outside the village. It is really cold today (about -21 degrees celcius). Can you spare a pair of mittens? I have been reading the book "Klondike" by Pierre Berton. I can really relate to the whole thing. Except I haven't found any gold. Sometimes, I dig for gold under the snow. I know I probably won't find any, but it is worth the look, don't you think?
So now I have to face up to the fact that I will never be a Mountie or
a gold prospector,
and that I will also probably never be a brain surgeon (although I have a
friend who will be one soon.) Here is my deep thought about brain surgery:
Brain surgery is probably fun because you get to muck about in the
brain. I wonder if brain surgeons ever muck about in their own brain in
their spare time. I suppose that would give them a headache.
I didn't say it would be an intelligent deep thought. Didn't Mr. Burns have Smithers massage his brain once on the Simpsons. I wonder how that would feel. Cool.
Man, my thoughts are getting really jumbled and warped. I think it is time to go back to the village. They are having BIG problems there now because the Klein government has made some pretty serious cutbacks. Some of them are absolutely ludicrous. For example, they have taken away most of the snow. They are selling it to either the Australians or the South Africans. I can't remember. They were going to sell it to Cuba, but the States threatened to pull the strings they have attached to Jean Cretien and make him dance a jig in the middle of parliament if we do. So they are selling the snow. But not to Cuba.
This leaves us with no way to make our homes and very little to drink
since we drink the snow. Canadian rule for good health: Never
drink the yellow snow
After having sold most of our snow, leaving many of us quite destitute, the Klein government has found that it made more money than it needed (ever since all social programs have been abolished, it has become really cheap to run the whole province). So they decided that the best thing to do is to invest the money in buying really big mansions for all people who earn over $70 000 per year.
We would launch a snowball protest, but we don't have enough snow to do it.
