The History of the Matt and Jeff Radio Show
The Days before WMTU
Although you may think the Matt & Jeff
Radio Show started in the Spring of 1993 there is a much deeper history to
the roots of the show.
It all started in the Fall of
1986...
Season 1
The "genesis" of the Matt & Jeff Radio Show evolved
from hours of pre-production planning in the Coed Hall Snack Bar. It
was over numerous M&M and double Heath bar Tech Tempests that the
original concepts were developed.
The first broadcast ever of the Matt & Jeff Radio Show
took place on March 6, 1993. The temperature in the metropolitan
Houghton area that morning was a balmy six degrees...warm for the time of
year.
By the time May
rolled around, eight shows were in the books. What started as a
fledgling project now was beginning to emerge as a media
juggernaut.
Season 2
Following the success of Season 1, the Matt & Jeff
Radio Show was ready to expand into the realm of celebrity
interviews. Prime targets for inquiry were none other than Superstar
Mike K, Hahn & Herrod, USG President Robert C. McManus and
"Moon-Dog."
Seasons 3-5
There was no stopping the Matt & Jeff Radio Show
now. Primed for the fast-lane of success, Matt & Jeff found
themselves in one of the hottest time slots, in just their third
season.
Post WMTU
What lies ahead for Matt &
Jeff? Most would guess nothing but quality work.
