My Current Tesla Coil

Pepe'

Variac Powerstat 144v 22A
Bus Wiring #10 AWG, PVC insulation, and ring terminals at ends
High Voltage Supply 12Kv, 60ma NST running 14.4Kv @ 77.2ma - 1111.69va
Is being taken apart to get more current from it.
Safty Gap N/A - Shorted out throught wood on a run
Chokes N/A - On board with safty gap so had to be taked off also
Spark Gap Static vacuum gap with 10(using 9) 1" X 4" electrodes in 6" PVC 0.027" per gap 0.243" total (using 0.216"). vacuum motor not hooked up yet
Caps Total .02126µF
2 banks of 2 10.5Kv .02µF rolled poly caps in series for .01µF
oiled bank measures .01089µF
inline dry bank measures .01037µF
dry bank finally gave out at the increased voltage
Primary Flat "pancake" spiral, 7 turns with I.D. of 6", .25" tubing, .25" spacing
has been taken apart to make a primary for my 3" coil
Secondary 4.5" X 20.75", #24 magnet wire wrapped on .25" thick PVC
Discharge Terminal 2" X 6" toroid made from 4 steel ducting elbows
I got my new 2.75" X 24" ready to go for when I build a new primary now
Ground System 10' of #3/0 AWG connected to drain pipe in basment
Max spark to date 10 or more bright 22" long streamers
Notes & Other Info The output is better then when I had used three 30mA 12Kv's. Before I couldn't get any breakout from a toroid. I had just used the copper tubing that I placed around the top as a discharge terminal. I got fewer less powerful streamers then, but about the same length. This prolbably has something to do with it close to being in tune now. My next primary will have a cut out for the secondary to adjust the coupling a little. I also hope to have the vacuum motor ready to hook up soon. Just gotta work out the power control.
