Sister Dear
by
Rasmiyyah Aidiah Gaines
You watched me grow and you taught me stuff,
You taught me to stand, when I thought I had enough.
If ever there was one who showed me so much care,
My sister dear, you were there.
When I asked, you answered, when I cried, you consoled.
When I faught, you helped, when I was wrong, you told.
Sister, I know I have been wrong and may have sassed you,
But my love for you is strong and true.
When brother gave a smack, who had my back, my sister.
Please don't doubt your influence on me,
But without you and big brother, where would I be.
If I lost you tomorrow, I know you would still be there,
Because even through death, we are connected sister dear.
If I go tommorrow, Lord forbid, just prepare,
Because I will leave my heart and soul in your care,
For you Sister Dear!
