It all started when I was
only sixteen;
She was the reigning Miss Gold River Queen,
And she was the most beautiful girl that I'd seen.
Imagine my surprise when she walked up to me,
She held out her hand and she said, "My name is
Christine."
Her name was Christine.
Well, she soon became my very best
friend,
And I vowed I'd stay with her until the end,
And each morning I'd wake up,
And I'd say a prayer for Christine.
We'd walk through the town with our heads held high,
We'd talk for hours and just watch the clouds go by.
And I would do anything for my Christine.
Her name was Christine.
She was the last of my glorious past,
And I thought of it each time I held her.
And I held her so tight one long summer night
That I felt her, really felt her.
Ooh...
Time has a way of deluding our minds.
'Cause before we knew it, ten years had gone by,
And then came the day that time took my precious
Christine.
It happened that night of that terrible storm.
I tried my best to keep her warm,
But there was nothing I could do, I could do for my
Christine.
I tried to hold on, but time took my precious Christine.
That was the day she gave birth to our
child,
And I held in my arms, so tender and mild,
It was the most beautiful girl that I'd seen.
And I -- named her --
Christine.
Her name is Christine.
Oh, she is the last of my glorious
past,
And I think of it each time I hold her,
And I held her so tight one long summer night
I still felt her when I held her.
Ooh...
She was mine (she was mine)
She was mine (she was mine)
All mine (all mine)
Oh... my Christine.
She was mine (Oh, why'd you have to go?)
All mine (I loved you so.)
(Fade and end)
