If I were a sailor,
I'd sail on the ocean.
I'd follow the notion that led me along.
And when I got tired, I'd sleep on the waves.
I'd let the wind carry me to your sweet face.
If I were the king of a
very small country;
Eighty-five cent cab fare from side to side,
I'd make you my queen and we'd rule the world.
We'd make princes and princesses of the boys and girls.
But it's all I can do just
to get you to notice me.
Without you in my life, I'm not complete.
But still you look for the man with the money...
The man with the look and I just can't compete.
Oh...
If I were an astronaut
high in the heavens,
I'd look down on earth just to see where you are.
And then I would reach up into the great milky way,
And when I got home I would give you the stars.
And if I were rich man
with the face of a movie star,
I'd buy me a house out in Beverly Hills.
And I'd take your hand, and I'd ask you to marry me,
And without hesitation, you'd say that you will.
But it's all I can do just to get you to notice me.
Without you in my life, I'm not complete.
But still you look for the man with the money;
The man with the look and I just can't compete.
Oh...
Oh...
