Tell you a little story about a girl I
used to know...
We were back in Carver High.
We were young, and we were so high strung,
But we never stopped to wonder why.
All the kids were sayin' we were the perfect match,
And all the guys at school wished they were me,
And all the girls were sayin' what a lucky girl she was
To be spending all her time with me.
We were teenage lovers holding hands through the night.
It never really mattered who was wrong or what was right.
Just as long as we're together, everything would be all
right,
'Cause we're teenage lovers in the night.
Linda Sue had hair, perfect golden brown,
Eyes aglow of midnight summer blue.
Her face was sheer perfection,
Peaches and cream complexion,
And every time she kissed me I just knew
That she would always be the only one for me,
And I was hopin' that she felt the same way, too,
But I know how sometimes things
Don't work out the way we want them to,
But I had high hopes for me and Linda Sue.
We were teenage lovers holding hands through the night.
It never really mattered who was wrong or what was right.
Just as long as we're together, everything would be all
right,
'Cause we're teenage lovers in the night.
Then before we knew it came graduation night,
And me and Linda Sue had to finally say good-bye.
She went off to college, but she wrote me one last time,
She said, "It's over now... let me tell you
why..."
She said, "I'll remember how you held me
All those summer nights,
And I'll remember how you touched me
And made me feel all right.
I'll remember all our times
And how every hour we spent was right...
But we were just teenage lovers in the night."
We were teenage lovers holding hands through the night.
It never really mattered who was wrong or what was right.
Just as long as we're together, everything will be all
right,
'Cause we're teenage lovers...
Yes, we're teenage lovers holding hands through the
night.
It never really mattered who was wrong or what was right.
Just as long as we're together, everything would be all
right,
'Cause we're teenage lover in the night.
Woh...
