"She who
saves one life is as if she saves the entire
world."

I am an oncology certified nurse, and
have been since 1993, but I am also the daughter of a
newly diagnosed advanced breast cancer patient. My
mother was
diagnosed on November 2nd, 1998. The plans for my mother include a radical modified masectomy followed by chemotherapy. We have a fight ahead of us, but my whole famly is joining her in her fight and I know we will beat this.
This is an update to the above, as of today May 15th, 1999, my mother is back to work and doing great. She had four courses of chemotherapy, which she tolerated extremely well.
We attribute her success to Our Lord Jesus Christ and his leading her to the right doctor and for giving her the best attitude she could have ever asked for.
Today May 15th, 1999 I had the extreme pleasure of participating in Relay for Life, the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Our community raised over $170,000.00 to help fight cancer. What an awesome achievement.
Update on my mom... on September 29th ,1999.. I spent the early morning hours with my mom in a helicopter flying through the Grand Canyon. She had the trip of a lifetime and so did I. Thank you God for letting her do this.
It is with great saddness and loss that I write this entry, on February 24th,2001, my mother passed away after along hard fight. I am still trying to come to terms with this and continue on with life. I have been appointed to the Lower Keys American Cancer Society Board of Directors, in charge of the Cancer Control Committees. Also i was honored by the American Cancer Society with the Award of Courage for continuing my work as an Oncology nurse, while my mother was herself undergoing treatment for cancer. I am very proud of this award and would like to thank the Amercian Cancer Society for acknowledging me.
This breast cancer awareness page will remain intact, so if someone reads this page and
it saves them or a loved one from the heartache of
finding out they have advanced breast cancer, I have
fulfilled my purpose.
Please join me in the fight
against breast cancer Education and early detection are
the keys to a cure.

WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
Cancer is so limited_______
It cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith,it cannot destroy peace.
It cannot kill friendship, it cannot suppress memories.
It cannot silence courage, it cannot invade the soul.
It cannot steal eternal life, it cannot conquer the spirit.
