When you use tables, if you do not have something in a cell, the cell may collapse or disappear. To solve this problem, you put invisible spacers into the cell.
My
favorite spacer is a period, because you can just type it in, and it is sized in
proportion to the font of the page.
To use a period, take any table
Put periods in key cells
..... .
......
Set the font color of the periods to match the background, so that they disappear
..... .
......
The
other technique is to use a transparent gif. Using an image editor (you can use MS Image
Composer), create a new image the size that you want (in pixels). Make the image a solid
color (white or black are best). Then save the image as a GIF, setting the transparent
color to the color you used to make the image.
Again, take any table
Put your image(s) in key cells
And this is what the final table looks like.
