...even fashion's elite are diggin' the Candie's
craze. "Candie's symbolize young, fashion-forward,
playful dressing at its best," says Valerie Steele,
chief curator of the Fashion Institute of Technology
Museum, and designer Vivienne Tam calls them "a
revered American icon."
Back in 1978, the Cole
footwear family (yes, as in "Kenneth Cole")
introduced the high-heeled clog. Says Candie's Inc.
CEO Neil Cole, "Candie's were sexy and kicky then
and they're sexy and practical now, with a range of
heels, styles, and prices."
