These pages are a simple example of imbedding FrameSet pages inside another FrameSet.
First
I created a 2 frame top/bottom (Header) FrameSet. In the top frame I created a page that
would contain a banner and section navigation buttons. The bottom frame I left blank
(uninitialized) at this time.
Then
I created a 2 frame left/right (Contents) FrameSet for each section of my web site. The
left frame contains a set of navigation buttons for loading pages into the right frame. I
changed the default targeting of these pages so they load where they should. Using Frame
Properties I renamed the right frame from 'main' to 'display', and in the Page Properties
for the left frame I changed the default target frame to 'display'.
After
creating my section (left/right) FrameSet pages, I went back to my main (top/bottom)
FrameSet page with the FrontPage Editor. I then set the initial page of the bottom frame
to my default section's FrameSet page. I then added a navigation button in the top frame
for each section, and linked the button to the FrameSet page of the section.
The
end result is a site with buttons across the top for navigating from section to section,
and buttons down the left for navigating to pages within a section.
