But she was unsinkable built to last
Like so many rumors of the past
With water tight compartments deep down in the boat
Water in only four of them would still keep her afloat
Oh she was a ship of such beauty and strength
She measured some 882 feet in length
Out for her maiden voyage one so grand
No one ever knew it would be her last look at land
On such a night they were warned of icebergs
Onwards they sailed increasing speed
Until the most feared thing occurred, the inevitable happened
ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD!
Panic swept throughout members of the crew
But it was too late there wasn't much they could do
They tried turning the best they could
Shutting down the dampers and doing anything else they should
There was nothing that could be done
With fear in their faces
The crew stood still in their places
As She took such a hard blow
Ripping seams in front water began to flow
Titanic-The Ship Of Dreams would soon be
Laying on the bottom of the sea
So many lives changed that night
So many dreams shattered
All because of one man,
destined to make headlines with his new "toy"
J.B. Ismay got his headlines
And to think he had to live the rest of his life
Knowing he was to blame for the 1500 or so
people who died that cold dark night
This poem is dedicated to the memories of those who lost their
lives
that dreadful night April 15,1912
