Astrology is a complex science which has of necessity been treated in a general way in the following pages. The cynic will usually ask: "How can a forecast for any zodiac sign be accurate for everyone born under that sign?" The obvious answer is, of course, that all horoscopes must be general unless the astrologer is able to work from specific details about the hour, day, and year of birth of the individual in question.

One must consider the what section of the sky the Sun occupied on the date of birth; the position of the Moon; and the sign rising at the exact time of birth. This procedure is carried on through all nine planets depicting a feature of the subject's make-up: their position, the signs they occupy, and the aspects formed from one another all play an important part. Should an astrologer calculate and interpret these movements, then we would have what is known as a birth chart.

Astrology can be used to assess many aspects of human life. The purpose of the information to follow is to assess the mating possibilities of people with others of their own or different astrological signs. There is a section for each sign of the zodiac which begins with a general character analysis of people born under that sign. This analysis distinguishes between the highter type - those who use the characteristics associated with their sign constructively - and the lower type - those people in whom these characteristics are exaggerated or perverted.

Next in each section come two tables of attractions, one for men and one for women. These are designed as a quick guide to compatability and apply not only to relationships between members of the opposite sexes, but also to friendships between members of the same sex, and to business associations between either sex.

Astrology should be used as a guide to character - its original and true purpose - and no better form of character analysis exists. It enables us to learn about ourselves and our friends, and once this information has been understood and digested it becomes easier for us to accept our limitations and weaknesses, leading inevitably to greater inner peace.

• PISCES (February 20th to March 20th) rules the feet
