"A Violent Day For The Raindrops"

A Poem Written By My Cousin, Bruce... 1994

     It's been a violent day for the raindrops
As each type of bird there is comes crashing down
Onto the flowers on which they sit
Destroying the peacefulness of the many droplets,

     As the sun rises and the road less traveled
Becomes full of the passengers of life,
The many cars come along;
Interrupting their peaceful state of mind;
Separating them from the friends they once knew
If only for a short while!

     And although they sit quietly
In all of what they consume as a whole,
They realize that the changes
They had brought with them
Also have a violent tendency or two;

     Washing away the dirt on the road
Or the peaceful morning dew-
That may have been happy in their state,
Not wanting to be moved.

     And as it happens often,
No one makes a fuss;
It will happen again tomorrow
Far away from us.
The rain will come tomorrow
And land on things it has before;
Being set in a peaceful setting until about 5:04,
When the violence repeats itself,
Like it's done before!
