Football, is the most Important sport in England. Everybody of all race’s and nationalities play it, whether it only be for a kick-around up at the local park, or in a team. I play for 2 teams at the moment; they are the Raynes Park Rovers and Smallwood FC. Smallwood is my Saturday Club, Raynes Park Rovers is my Sunday Team. My usual position is (‘69’!!!) { Joke!! } Right wing or Centre Midfield, I like these positions because it allows me to get stuck in and involved in the game, allowing me to control the midfield, whilst aiding the defence and attack.
My team usually plays in the 4-4-2 formation, giving a strong Defence, Midfield and a reasonable strike force up front, (When aided by the wingers!!). Although sometimes I feel it more appropriate to play a 3-5-3 formation with the 2 wingers doubling up as Wing-backs to give the game more flow and purpose, similar to the method used by Glen Hoddle in the England team. But when playing with this tactic you have to make sure that your teams passing is accurate, and that their fitness levels are high because the game is guaranteed to be fast paced. I personally prefer playing a passing game instead of the direct ball, (Passing as in passing into space not to the players feet!!) this is because it makes more sense to allow the player to run onto the ball then having to control it first and then more with it and accelerate and giving your marker a chance to catch you.
The Football team that I support is Liverpool FC. They play in the English premiership and are amongst one of the best teams in Europe. The team is managed by Roy Evans, who, although hasn’t had a bad season, hasn’t really one them much. They finished up third overall out of the 20 teams in the League, coming up behind Previous champions Manchester United and this years winners Arsenal. Liverpool has a Brilliant team with names the likes of Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Steve Mcmannamon, Paul Ince, Jamie Redknapp and various others to. Owen, Ince and Mcmannamon were all called up to the England squad for a place in the national team at France ’98, whilst Fowler and Redknapp were out due to injuries.
