April 1999

I got back from a vacation to Las Vegas with Amanda and her family. It wasn't too bad, except I think Amanda and I probably both want a break from each other for a while! :) We stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton..I got to see lots of attractions I've already seen. One of the few things I hadn't seen was the Bellagio - it's very fancy. I ate a chocolate pudding from their snack bar and it was a very fancy chocolate pudding. *G* The school principal keeps blabbering on about these standardized tests..how they go onto our permenant record and determine our grade level and yadda-yadda-yadda..at least once a week we get a lecture telling us to "read, read, READ!" I want to gag. Thank goodness I'm on spring break.

The last day of spring break. I really don't want to go back to school. The saddle slipped when I was riding today and fell all the way to the outside so it was sideways. Fortunately for me, there was a rail there and I just slipped off and sat on the rail. It wasn't a particularly enjoyable experience. I think I need to work on my balance. Anyways, I hope I didn't have any homework during break. I thought I had English homework, but I don't remember!! Ouch. I guess I'm in trouble, ne?

I'm so tired..my mouth hurts because my wisdom teeth are growing in and I don't have time to go and get them extracted until mid-May and there putting a lot of pressure on my teeth and gums..ow. Kiwanis is this Friday - maybe for the first year ever I'll make finals. *sigh* Two years ago a girl who forgot the words and stopped singing got into finals and I didn't. Quite depressing. Our choir leaves for tour on April 30 and comes back on May 3. I'm missing my timed writing in English - remind me to tell Ms. Y-----, as she doesn't know yet.

Post-April Reflections

I'm gradually having less need for a journal. My life is starting to balance out and not be so bad or crazy anymore; I have more friends right now than I've ever had in my life, I'm enjoying myself, I'm getting fairly good grades..sure, bad things happen, like the New York Times quote where I got bashed by some CLs who didn't even know it was me that Lisa Napoli quoted, but overall, life is good. I *do* have at least one entry for May, though, and in May I'll probably take some excerpts from my old diaries because I found both of them.

She looks like she don't care
Smooth as silk, cool as hair
Ooh, it makes you want to cry
She doesn't know your name
Your heart beats like a subway train
Ooh, it makes you want to die

-Blondie, "Maria"

My choir trip was wonderful, by the way. I'm not going to go into the details right now..it's too complicated..but I will later. Remind me. :)
