Colliseum.jpg (135413 bytes)During the summer, my brother and I were lucky to stay during 10 days with our Aunt and Uncle in Rome. Although they live on the outskirts, it is only a 20 minute bus drive to Termini, in the centre of Rome. This was the first time that my brother and I spent time in a big city alone. It's something that we both hope we will do again, considering the amount of fun we had walking around on the streets of Rome, feeling as though we could do anything we pleased. Indeed we could do anything we pleased, we went in one day more than 3 times by metro to St. Peter's, and in total we went up to the Cupola 3-4 times (always going by foot, unlike those fat tourists that took the life half the way up, and then walked the rest of the way---we actually ran up the first bit). We were also very lucky to see probably what is one of the most famous fashion shows in the world, with the biggest Italian fashion names. The Piazzia di Spagna--Scalina Trinita del Monti. Mediaset 5, one of the TV channels that Silvio Berlusconni owns had the exclusive coverage of the show, and had set up 4 studio type cameras with extremely powerful lenses, one steadycam operator, two jib mounted cameras, and one remote control baloon mounted camera! It's not very surprising when you consider that one of the models was Naomi Cambell, and that the names were Gucci and Versacce. [Note: there's nothing that makes you feel more puny than two tall models walking besides you! They're extremely tall! And from the little that I talked to them---very cocky bitches.]

One thing that I really liked about Rome are the girls. I don't think that there is any other place than Italy where the girls look so beautiful. I suppose that the warm climate, and their tanned bodies does help a lot of course...but still, even without they'd probably be beautiful. I won't comment on what I thought about the way in which some of the guys dressed though, wearing platform shoes! Hugh! From where we come from, someone going around with that type of shoes would be considered Gay.
