The next morning, the sun was shining and the pouring rain had stopped. Rain drops from the leaves up the the trees were dripping down, and everything was trying to dry.
Lance and Justin woke up first, checking out all the damage to their site. They saw Nicks tent, sitting in the huge puddle. AJs tent was on a bit higher ground, but had water in it anyways!
Laura and LeeAnna got up also, and the four of them went in town for breakfast.
In Karine's tent, Karine and AJ were fast asleep together. Karine opened her eyes up at around 10:00am. When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was AJ, lying beside her, asleep! Karine laid there for awhile, waiting for AJ to get up. When AJ woke up, he turned to Karine and gave her a kiss on her forehead. Karine smiled at AJ, and then AJ kissed her on her chin! As AJ was about to kiss her on the lips, she put her hand on his chest and pushed him back a bit.
"AJ, I thought we are going to take things slow!" Karine said.
"I'm sorry! I didnt mean to make you mad" AJ said.
"Im not mad, I just want to take things slow" Karine said. At that, AJ kissed her forehead again, smiled, and then got up out of the sleeping bag, and walked outside.
In Taras tent, Tara and Nick were still sleeping together, holding eachother closely. Nick pulled Tara a little closer to him, and kissed her shoulder. Tara, still asleep, didnt know. Shortly after, Nick woke up. Being that close to Tara felt real good to Nick, and he didnt want this to end. He never told Tara how he felt about her, because he thought she wouldnt like him. Nick rubbed Taras back, and played with her hair for a bit. Tara woke up, finding Nick playing with her hair. Tara looked at Nick, who was looking at her. When Tara's eyes opened, Nick stopped playing with her hair.
"Good morning" Tara said to Nick, smiling.
"Good morning" Nick said back, shly.
"are you cold?" Tara asked.
"nope! you kept me warm all night" Nick said, and then he smiled.
Tara rubbed her hands up and down Nicks back, which sent a chill up his spine. Nick pulled Tara close to him again, giving into his thought, and kissed her head.
Tara looked up at Nick, and then he kissed her, on the lips. It was a soft, kind of long kiss, that both of them were enjoying.
"oh my God, im soo sorry" Nick said, embarassed.
"Dont be sorry!" tara said. Nick looked at Tara. "I like you, Nick!"
"Do you really?" Nick asked.
"Yeah, I just didnt thinkyou liked me!"
"Oh but I do Tara! I really do!" Nick replied.
Tara and Nick kissed again.
"Well, lets go see the damage to your tent!!" Tara suggested. They walked out of Taras tent, Tara in her boxers and shirt, and Nick in a pair of Taras boxers.
"Hey guys" Karine said, looking over at Nick and Tara.
"Hey! Whoa!! Look at all the mess!!" Tara said, laughing at Nicks tent in the middle of the huge puddle. "Looks like we're going to have to walk thru that huge puddle, pick up your tent, and move it to high ground!" Tara suggested. Tara and Nick took off their shoes, and walked thru the huge puddle, which was about 6 inches deep. They picked up Nicks tent, and moved it to a higher area of ground, where the sun was able to dry it out. When Karine and AJ opened up AJs tent, there was about an inch of water on the bottom. AJ dragged out his stuff, throwing it on the picnic table for the sun to dry.
After changing into some dryer clothes, Karine, AJ, Nick and Tara went on a nature trail, this time, having the girls lead them thru the trail. On part of the trail, Nick and AJ came across a plant that they have never seen before, and it looked kind of cool. Curiously, AJ walked over to it, and picked it up.
"Hey Nick! look at this!" AJ said. As Nick was about to walk over to check it out, Tara grabbed Nicks arm!
"oh God! AJ! DO you know what that is?" Tara said. Karine turned around and looked at AJ.
"no, what?" AJ asked.
"AJ! Thats Poison Ivy!" Karine said loudly! AJ dropped the plant, and stood there. The group walked on, and headed back to camp afterwards. When AJ got back to camp, he decided to go have a shower, because he was feeling a bit strange. When AJ reached the showers, he took off his shirt, and noticed that he had a horrible rash all over his body. AJ let out a little scream, cuz he wasnt expecting a rash. After his shower, AJ was really itchy, and came back to camp itching his back.
"Poor AJ!" Karine said, looking at AJ walking back to camp, scratching his back and chest.
Karine stood up, and walked over to the car and got out the first aid kit that she brought along incase anyone got hurt. She took out a pair of gloves, and a special lotion for the rash. When AJ reached the camp site, Karine made him lie down in the lawn chair, and made him take off his shirt. Karine rubbed the lotion all over his back, his chest and his forearms, where the rash had seemed to spread.
When Lance, Justin, Laura and LeeAnna appeared back at camp, they had Tim Hortons donuts for everyone.
"Hey we saw your tent this morning" Justin said, laughing at Nick.
"Yeah I know! Its almost try, I SHOULD be able to sleep in it tonight, but If Its still wet, I guess Im going to have to share with Tara again." Nick said, and then he smiled at Tara. Laura and LeeAnna glanced at eachother, then at Tara. Tara smiled at them.
"I cant believe we only have three days left! Time went by soo fast" Karine said sadly.
AJ put an arm around Karine. "Hey! Dont worry! We still have three days!" he assured Karine.
"Looks like we miss out on alot of stuff!" Laura said to LeeAnna, referring to the two new couples across the site.
"Hey Tara, wanna go out later tonight?" Nick asked Tara.
"Yeah sure! What are we gonna do?" Tara said.
"I dont know, maybe that wolf howl thing!" Nick suggested.
"yeah!! I love those!!" Tara said smiling.
Later that night, Nick and Tara left camp, and went to the wolf howl that was being held that night. A wolf howl in Algonquin park, for those who have never been there, is when visitors go to the Algonquin theatre, then they take off in their cars and follow a group of rangers along the highway. The highway is closed off from other traffic for this one evening. Then, when they reach the spot, they get out of their cars, and be totally silent. Then the rangers make a wolf howl noise, and you can hear the wolf pack howl back!
Nick pulled the car over, got out of the car, and opened up the door for Tara. Nick borrowed AJ's car for the evening. Standing along the side of the road, Nick put his jacket on Tara so she wouldnt be cold, and wrapped his arms around her. Tara moved closer to Nick, and then the ranger made the wolf noise. About 20 seconds later, the wolf pack in the forest started howling back, it was the most amazing cutest thing ever! The little wolf puppied yapped and the adult wolves howled back, it sounded really amazing. Nick was astonished and extrememly enjoyed the wolf howl, because he had never been to anything like that before.
When Tara and Nick returned back to camp, they saw AJ and Karine talking around the fire. The others had already gone to bed. It was about midnight, and Nicks tent was still a bit damp, so he had to sleep in Taras tent once again, not that he minded that!
