I am currently employed at Fusion Marketing, a division of Deluxe corporation. I work there full time, but I am seeking some part-time work where I can utilize my talents and skills as a vocalist.
Vocal Range: Low Baritone to Medium high Tenor
Preferences: I prefer a capella, jazz and Broadway show tunes, but I will sing anything I find appealing.
Vocal Background:
1988-1991: Richland High School Concert Choir.
I began to realize the potential I had as a vocalist when I came under the instruction of William Machiko and Margaret Preston. I sang Tenor throuout the four years I was a member.
1990-1991: Richland High School Jazz Choir.
This was a much smaller group than the Concert Choir, consisting of about 20 members. The Jazz Choir selections were more upbeat and choreography was often incorporated into the show. The main feature of the annual Christmas Concert was the Jazz Choir. I sang Tenor for the two year I was a member.
1991: PMEA District 1 Chorus.
I was one of two students selected from my high school to attend the 1991 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Festival. This festival gathered the best singers from about 80 different High Schools in the Greater Pittsburgh area. I was 8th chair in the Tenor II section.
1991: PMEA Region 1 Chorus.
Region 1 comprised of District 1 and District 5. By being 8th chair in my section, I received an invitation to participate in the Region 1 Festival. The Region covered students from all of western Pennsylvania. I was 3rd chair in the Tenor II section.
1991: PMEA All-State Festival.
PMEA's largest event of the year is the All-State festival. In 1991 it was held at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I received an invitation to participate in this event because I was 3rd chair in my section at the Region 1 Chorus (The top 4 from each section received invitations).
1991-1993: Heinz Chapel Choir University of Pittsburgh.
An all a capella choir under the direction of John Goldsmith that preforms several concerts a year in the beautiful Heinz Chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus. In 1991, we went on a tour of eastern Europe for three weeks, preforming 11 concerts. The Heinz Chapel Choir's annual Christmas Concert is always a sell out. If you live in the area, you should really try to see them some time. This year, Christmas concert tickets are selling for $7 a piece (i think). Go to their web site to get more information.
1993-1997: Equinox -- Bassist and Vocalist.
A semi-successful band I was in. It helped to curb my musical desires after I left Heinz Chapel Choir. I sang about half the songs and played bass guitar.
