Barracuda Point

Barracudas

One of my favorite dive sites at Sipadan. Anyone who has dived at Sipadan would tell you that one of the most amazing and frequent sights is the school of Barracuda and Jacks together. Imagine if you will a tornado of large fish which allow you to swim within touch. It is an awesome sight especially when you know Barracuda are aggressive fish, well armed with teeth that can do some real damage to human flesh.

The schools of Barracuda and Jacks can most certainly be found at Whitetip avenue, Barracuda Point and South Point at around 40ft to 60ft of water.

Barracuda Spiral  Barracuda spiraling to the surface. It is quite exhilarating to swim up in the middle of the school so as to be fully surrounded by them. Sipadan is renowned for the huge numbers of Barracuda and Jacks. Many divers are attracted to this dive spot purely to swim alongside these magnificent fish and be a part of the spectacle, I know I am.
