Virtual Diving in Sipadan Island

Your dive buddy Brian

Hello and welcome. I'm Brian and I will be your virtual dive buddy today. Before we begin, I will have to get some formalities out of the way. It's for your own safety. A few rules to follow :-

  1. don't touch anything you might regret;

  2. don't go too deep (in our case not beyond 100ft);

  3. don't ascend too fast (no faster than your air bubbles);

  4. don't damage coral - check your buoyancy regularly.

Introducing the VDC1000

   The controls you see below is the Virtual Dive Controller 1000™. You will be using this to navigate and interact with our friends beneath the waves. It's pretty straight forward - I don't think I need to insult your intelligence on how to use it. A word of warning though - please listen to my instructions. The currents are pretty strong around these parts and if you wander too far off, you may not make it back alive!

Okay, if you're ready to go, just click anywhere on the VDC1000™ to get this show on the road. Our first dive wil be at the Drop Off. Once we put in, there will be no bottom for 2,000 ft.

Acknowledgements

   I 've always wanted to take my own photos of the wonderful creatures you will soon see but alas, it is not within my capacity to do so right now. Before you start thinking that  these images are my own, I must acknowledge the talented people who took them - in particular Michael Patrick Wong for his fantastic work.
