My Great Escape!

to the Island of Kos

Face by ME! Its sad I know but a start ha ha!

Well what a holiday!

Bad map of where I stayed!

My friend, Deborah, and I went to the Greek Island of Kos for a week without the husbands and children. Bliss in itself! I arrived in Kephalos at 4am and was very tired and hungry. The place we stayed in was basic but it had brilliant pool. The beach was OK but not very kind to the body, those annoying little bits of sand got everywhere! Needless to say I got all my little bits tanned except the nether regions! The island itself was beautiful and very peaceful whole. We stayed in a resort called Kephalos on the west side of the island. This resort offered a quite location for families and older couples and I think Deborah and I were the only lone females for miles. There was Paradise beach about 4 miles down the only road the traversed the whole length of the island. This beach was long and very sandy. It became very hot during the day, too hot to sunbathe! Kos town itself had some ancient Roman ruins, an arena, gymnasium and baths, to name a few. There was also an old tree, reputedly 2500 years old! The shops in Kos town were a variety of tourists type outlets and some traditional craft and leatherwear stalls. Seashells and natural sponges were very popular. I must not forget to mention the jewellery shops, which I could not keep my nose out of! Yes! I did purchase a beautiful elephant ring, much to my husbands’ disgust.

The ring I bought and love to pieces!
