Hi, I'm JohnCee. My given name is Robert. I was born February 8,
1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and have lived here all my life. I
enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation from High School in 1944 and was honorably discharged after serving almost three and a half years. After a few petty jobs, I began working in the trucking industry on August 31, 1948 and retired about 12 years ago, completing exactly 39 years date to date in the trucking industry. My wife and I will be celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary on May 21, 1999. We've never had any children of our own, but have always been involved with the children of our nephew, and our nieces plus some of the neighbors. We still "baby sit" as we are needed. I help my wife with some of the gardening, plus some of the housework, and I take care of the outside work. My wife and I did some volunteer work at a local Nursing Home while her Father was a resident there, and also after he passed away. I volunteered to run for a church office and have been Secretary of the Church Council and the Congregation for the past four years. After I retired in 1987, because I had time on my hands, I became interested in Computers. I don't know if they had computer schools at that time, but I learned much just by reading and trial and error. I also learned much from the good people on #50Something. I needed a lot of help which they freely gave. I really enjoy the camaraderie when I am on the 50Something channel and find that all the people on it made very good friends indeed. |
