Cloud (you can actually name him whatever you want, btw) Strife is the main character of this game. He says he is an Ex-Soldier First Class (though it isn't really true) who served the Shin-Ra Inc., but he is now a mercenary who will take any job, and is employed by Avalanche, which got him caught up in a massive struggle for the life of the Planet. He's 21, 5'7", with a blood type of AB, born on August 21 (really useless fact here) and grew up in Nibelheim. He uses a Buster Sword (this humongous sword which can cut everything in two), but his best sword is the Ultima Weapon.

Barret Wallace is the leader of the group Avalanche, an underground resistance movement dedicated to the destruction of mega-conglomerate Shin-Ra Inc. which has monopolized mako energy by building special reactors to suck it out of the Planet. He is 35, 6'4", with a blood type of O, born on December 15, and grew up in Corel Village. He has a gun grafted in his arm (the Gatling), after having a surgical operation when he lost his right arm in a battle to save Corel.

Tifa is this really hot computer graphic babe (hehehe, that's how my friend describes her) who is a member of Avalanche and owns 7th Heaven, a bar in the slums. She and Cloud were childhood friends, and though she got feelings for the spikey-haired dude, she would never admit it. She is 20, 5'4", with a blood type of B, born May 3rd, and grew up in Nibelheim. She only uses gloves (sometimes with claws on it) and her fists in fighting, and she's my favorite character in the game (after Cloud of course).

Aeris is the last living Cetra on the Planet. She is always chased by Shin-Ra troops to make her a specimen in their experiment, and to lead them into the 'Promised Land'. They believe that only a Cetra can lead them to the Promised Land though scientists don't think that a certain place exist. Though she's got powerful healing magic and fighting ability, she is more interested in the deepening love triangle between her, Cloud and Tifa. She is 22, 5'3", with a blood type of O, born February 7th, the place where she was born is unknown, but she grew up in the slums in Midgar. She uses a Rod and magic in fighting.

Cait Sith is a Shin-Ra 'spy' (and a part-time toysaurus in Gold Saucer, a cool themepark) but he stays with you till the end. He's a great help since he was the one who got the Black Materia in the Temple of the Ancients. He uses a megaphone (weird huh?), and shouts orders and creates dopey attacks. He rides the huge stuffed moogle body he magically brought to life (the one who attacks the enemy). His hobby is fortune telling, but like his personality, it's pretty unreliable.

Cid is a tough talking, warm-hearted, old pilot who hasn't forgotten his dreams. There's no better pilot by air or by sea. He believes someday he'll fly to the ends of the universe. With his handmade spear and knowledge of machinery, he throws himself into any attack regardless of the danger. He is 32, 5'8", with a B blood type, born February 22nd and lives in Rocket Town. He uses Spear as his weapon, and he's got cool limit breaks like 'Dynamite'.

A mystical man, stern and upright while at the same time dark and mysterious. His past connections with Shinra, Inc. is what made him join Cloud and the others. He may seem to frail at first glance, but hidden inside his body lurks a fearsome power. He is 27, 6'0", born October 13, with A blood type, and uses shotgun as his weapon.

Although you'd never know it by looking at her, Yuffie comes from a long line of Ninja. She forced herself into the group just to get a "certain something". She's sneaky, arrogant and "way" selfish. But with her super shuriken and her special skills, there isn't anyone else you'd rather have on your side in a fight. She is 16, 5'6", a materia hunter, born in Wutai on November 20th with a blood type of A. She uses knife, boomerang and origami and she's really cool, though I only used her once in a battle.

Just as his name implies, he is an animal with fire-red fur. But under his fierce exterior is an intelligence surpassing that of any human's. His sharp claws and fangs make him good at close-range fighting, but other than that, not much is known about him. Red XIII is just a name Professor Hojo gave him as a specimen and his real name is Nanaki. He is 48 (16 in human years), 3'9", and was born in Cosmo Canyon. His weapon are headdresses, and he's really strong when he's in his limit breaks.

Even amongst the elite troops of SOLDIER, Sephiroth is known to be the best. His past is locked away in a confidential file held by Shinra, Inc. His giant sword, which only he can handle, has extremely destructive power. Said to have disappeared in a battle years ago, his current whereabouts are unknown (but I'll say he died, I killed, I mean... Cloud killed him).

A powerful organization called the Turks, led by Reno, Tseng, Rude and Elena, is always there to stop the Avalanche. Their boss, Rufus (new Shin-Ra President) always thinks of plans to stop Cloud in their quest to destroy the company and its mako reactors. (Hey, the names on the picture isn't quite right. My FF7 game says Yrena=Elena, Zeng=Tseng and Leno=Reno... or maybe that's the Japanese way of saying it, like in Aerith=Aeris. Agh, whatever.)
