The new Admin 'Code of Conduct' has been approved by Council.  

All Admins please take the time to read this document.





Server Rules

 
 .1     DISCLAMER
We at BAW reserve the right at anytime to kick or ban you if we feel that you are in violation of our rules. You are a guest on our sever, which is maintained by our members. For this reason, you have no rights except those that are given to you. If you violate them and get banned forever, tough luck. You agreed to our rules as soon as you clicked connect.

 
.2     WHEN YOU GO AFK
When you know that you need to go AFK (away from keyboard) you need to go to spectate. If you don't, the admins will kick you. We do this so that we can have as many active players as possible on the teams. This keeps the teams even and the gameplay fast.

 
.3     CONDUCT CONCERNING ACCIDENTAL TEAM KILLINGS  
1.   When you are TKed (Team Killed) by your fellow teamates, a menu with three options will show up. You can either:

A)  Kill them
B)  Slap them for 50 hp
C)  Forgive them


If the person apologizes within approximately the next 15 seconds, you must forgive them. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Anyone caught slaying in this case will be warned or kicked.

If they do not apologize within that time, you have two options: slap or kill. In most cases (i.e. accidental shooting, bad gernades) slap them and let them know in writing or voice that they need to forgive. In rare cases (i.e. grenade in spawn, being the victim of this person multiple times) even if they did apologize, you have the right to kill them. If they attempt to kill you for it, let an admin know and we will take care of it.

2. It has been the will of the Council to further eloborate on the tk and tw polices of the server. If a person tk's or tw you they must apologize unless the action causing the tk or tw warrants no apology.(Intentional tk, tw, in spawn multiple tk's or tw's against one individual in short time etc.) This rule applies to all members, and all pubbers. Violators will be warned and kicked if there are multiple violations.

 
 .4     GENERAL RULES
1. Be reasonable to everyone playing. Calling names in jest is cool, a "reasonable" amount of swearing is permissible, but if you come in being an ass, calling people vulgarities, and swearing like an angry sailor, we reserve the right to boot your ass or ban you if you fail to heed our warnings to knock it off.

2.     Your spot is always up for grabs if you are a non-member. If a member wishes to play and the server is full, a non-member will be booted to make room for the member. All non-members are guests on this server and members who play and pay take presedence over non-members.

3.     Don't block hallways, choke points, ways out of spawn, etc. If you do this, you will be told to move. If you don't we will either move you or kick you. If you keep doing it, we will ban you.

 
 .5     YOUR GAMERTAG
1. Your gamertag is your name in the server.
For the most part, anything goes. However, we reserve the right to change your name or ask you to change it if we feel it is highly degrading, racist, extremely obscene, or insensitive (i.e. Hurricane Katrina as a gamertag)

2. You may NEVER put any sort of BAW clan identification into your tag unless approved by the high council or another high ranking member of the BAW. Anyone caught doing this will be kicked and/or banned instantly.

3. YOU MAY NOT ENTER THE SERVER WITH THE DEFAULT NAME OF PLAYER!!!!
If you do this the admins will harass you, abuse you and be an ass to you until either you change your name or we kick you.

4. If you are a BAW member you must wear your tag at all times. This includes when you are in our server or in anyone else's. Failure to do this will result with a ban until you explain your actions to an admin.

 
 .6     HARASSMENT OF FEMALE PLAYERS
There are few females that play on our server. If at any time you are found to be harassing or degrading one of them, you will be kicked and banned. No exceptions.

 
 .7     STARTING SHIT
This will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with a player in the server, contact an admin and discuss the matter with them. We will decide what course of action will need to be taken. If you start shit, you will be toast. Period.

 
 .8     HACKING/PERSONAL MODS
Both of these action are FORBIDDEN at the pain of instant perm bans. The only mods allowed on the server are ones that are either installed by the BAW or mods that are from valve and have prior approval from the BAW.
 
 .9     HLSS
HLSS is not permitted on the BAW server at any time. If you violate this your voice/chat privelages will be revoked. Playing sounds on the server is an Admin privelage and will remain so on this server to preserver order and integrity of gameplay. If you don't like it go play somewhere else.
 
 .10     SPECIAL RULES PERTAINING TO MAPS
Wallmart_Final:
No mgs (Machine Guns) are permitted on the roof. We don't care how its deployed or if you are just crossing the roof, NO MGS ON THE ROOF!!! THIS ALSO INCLUDES ALL ASPECTS, WHICH MEANS THE RAMP!!!! If we find you with one, you will be asked to get off the roof. If you don't, we will make you get off the roof, or kick you. (Please note: BARs do not count as mgs and are permissible on the roof)

Wolfie:
On the map Wolfie there are auto-mortars that when they kill someone, it sometimes comes up as a tk. If you are killed in this manner, FORGIVE THE TK AT ALL TIMES. If you don't, you will be warned, kicked or banned depending on how many time you violate this rule.
 
 .11     SPAWN CAMPING
You are allowed to spawn camp for 2 minutes. After this time, you will need to leave the enemy's spawn and wander the map for a bit. Violaters of this rule will be harassed, kicked, or banned, depending on the seriousness of the offence.
 
 .12     CAMPING IN GENERAL
When you camp, you will have a certain amount of time before the auto kicker warns you that you need to move. At this point you need to move about the map for a bit before you find another position to camp. Failure to comply with this will get you harassed and kicked.
 
 .13     BAN APPEALS
If you feel that you have been unfairly banned from our server, please go to our forums and appeal under "Ban Appeal". An admin will review your case and make a second judgement on it. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
 
 .14     THE THREE BANS RULE
If you somehow manage to get yourself banned from the server 3 or more times from the server for infractions of the rules, you are gone. You will be banned from our server forever. GOT IT????
 
 .15     TO REACH AN ADMIN
If you need to reach us, go to MEMBER LIST. There you will find a comprehensive list of all members, with the admins denoted with an "A" next to thier name. Council Members have an 'L' next to theirs.
 
 .16     BROKEN MAPS
If you happen to find a broken map whilst you are playing, please go to our forums and post this broken map under "Server Issues" so that our techs can fix the map ASAP.
 
 .17     SPRAYS
You are more than welcome to have sprays on the server however they may not be pornographic in nature, or in any other way that we deem obscene. Anyone found with this sort of spray will be asked to change it immeadiately. If they refuse to comply, they will be banned until they do.
 
 .18     CONCLUSION
This covers our offical server rules. They will be updated as necessary and the changes will be edited here. If you abide by our rules then you should have a very fun and pleasant experience on our server, and we hope that you will enjoy it enough to consider being a member.


Membership Requirements


 All applicants for membership must abide by the  "Server Rules of Conduct"  and
    ** YOU MUST HAVE A WORKING MIC **
    ** YOU MUST HAVE MINIMUM 60 HOURS PLAYED ON THE BAW SERVER **
    ** YOU MUST PAY MEMBERSHIP FEES **

All qualified applicants will then be submitted into the Membership Vote Process for final selection.

Administrator 'Code of Conduct'


 
1.     You must have YIM on at all times when you are playing.

2.     You have the responsibilityto maintain communications, verbal and non verbal to the standards outlined in the general rules of conduct as stated in the Mess Hall.

3.     You have the right to discipline players that breach the general rules of conduct through abusive behavior that does not involve communication, things such as:
a. Excessive Camping ie. spawn camping more than 2 mins
b. Shadowing
c. Teamkilling/Teamwounding
d. Stupidity with gernades
e. Inactivity
f. Blocking
g. Any other breach of the general rules of conduct

4.     You have the responsibility to not abuse your powers, and to warn players of their infractions before bringing down the thunder. When you warn a player you must warn him/her at least one with verbal and non verbal communication before you take disciplinary action.

5.     Racism or racist remarks are not acceptable under any circumstances.

6.     Admins MUST visit the forums on a regular basis.

Disciplinary Actions

1.         As an Admin, you have serveral means at your disposal to discipline player(s) that breach the general rules of conduct, ranging from a light action to a perm ban. All of these methods are enacted through the console menu, and most of them through the amxmodmenu command.
This section will cover the various actions you can use as punishment for infractions. You can:
a. STFU a player, which blocks their verbal and non verbal communications
b. Change a player's name to discipline or bring it into conformance
c. Affect a player's vision, health, speed, weapons load out, level in the terrain (burying) or position on the map through teleporting. It should be noted that an exhaustion then escalation approach should be used with these commands. DO NOT give one warning and then start messing with someone's health or weapons loadout. Start with a slap, burying or altering vision. If none of these approaches work, move up to more severe disiciplines to bring the player into conformance.
d. After repeated infractions of the rules you can kick or ban a player for varying amounts of time.
e. If the player has very egregious breachs in conduct, you can permantly send them to a different clan's website and server.
f. If you believe that a player is cheating in some form or fashion. Make a demo and perma ban them. Post it in the Ban list with your demo.

2.         Steps to take with potential hackers:
a. View potetial hackers in spec mode to see how they play.
b. Have a demo recorded by yourself or others.
c. Make other admins and Council aware of possible hackers by posting in Admin only section.

Although some accusations are not so believable, some of our regulars may point out someone that we should be suspicious of. We should respectfully respond that we will observe and ensure other Admins are aware of this player. Simply saying "he plays CAL he's ok" is not an appropriate answer.

3.         Respond respectfully to hacking accussations by notifying the accusser of one of the following possible scenarios;
a. This person has been reviewed judged serveral times to not be a hacker.
b. The results of going into spec mode to see if it's an obvious hack. (results could be c - e)
c. I will have other admins watch this person more carefully.
d. A demo will be/has been recorded and will be reviewed by more experienced Admins/Council.
e. I have banned this person for hacking.

4.         The Council requires the following rule:
a. When you ban someone YOU HAVE to post it in the 'Ban List" so that other Admins and Council members have a heads up for when someone makes a Ban Appeal.
b. It is UNACCEPTABLE for anyone except Council to unban someone elses ban unless requested or approved by the Admin that originally placed the ban.
c We don't kick/ban people with high pings.

Other Functions of Admins

1.     Admins must also be servants of our gaming community by running votes for weapons modes and map requests.

2.     An Admin must also run votes when a map is greatly disliked and needs to be changed due to intolerable conditions on the map. DO NOT JUST CHANGE IT TO A MAP WITHOUT VOTING ON IT. Use dmap_rockthevote, this should be the only way that maps are changed by Admins.

3.     Admins must also report when a map crashes the server so that we can investigate the cause and take corrective actions.

Final Notes

1.     As an Admin, you must lead by example. Believe it or not, the members of our community will look up to you in some small way and pattern some of their actions based off what you do in yours. Keep that in mind at all times. Part of this means you must maintain a level head when carrying out your duties as Admin. If you feel you cannot make an unbiased series of actions over a player's behavior in the server, turn the matter over to another Admin in server or contact a council member to take care of the issue via HLSW.

2.     If complaints are filed against you the council will take action appropiately. Remember you serve this community at the whim of the council. What has been given can be taken away just as easily.
