Christianity for Sci-Fiers
Jeremiah is a difficult book of the Bible.  It covers the time when God used Jeremiah as a prophet to tell Judah about the 70 year captivity in Babylon under King Nebechandnezzar because of their sinfulness.  Jeremiah faces false prophets, disbelief from the people, and the people's indifference and desire to stay the way are.  This book also shows God's love and desire for His people to repent and come back to Him.

Jeremiah didn't only prophecy about the destruction of Judah, but also of the promises God made to resotre Israel and the world through Jesus.  Though it can be a downer at times, after all, Jeremiah was called the "weeping prophet," this book is at its essence a book about the love and compassion God has for his people.

Currently I am working thorugh Jeremiah in my devotional time and relating the lessons in this Biblical book to episodes and incidences seen on Star Trek Voyager mostly (also used are examples form other Treks and the Star Wars movies).  For a class I am in I need to moderate a discussion group, so I ask if you are interested in going thorugh this book, please go to my discussion board and participate in the discussion.

Since this is a new idea, this is the first book that I have done (and am actually still working through)>. I hope to do other books or general concepts in a similar way later.  If you have any comments or suggestions, please E-mail me.
