In the not too distant future, the planet Earth has opened its doors for peaceful relations and co-habitation with alien species. Most of our alien neighbors live in peace, but for the one percent that doesnt, there is Space Patrol Delta. An elite team of police officers trained to serve and protect the citizens of Newtech city, led by Commander Anubis "Doggie" Cruger, and aided by their
futuristic technology built by Dr. Kat Manx.

Far out in space, Emperor Gruum drains all the life from a defenseless planet and leaves it as asteroids after detonating it. He then sets his sights on earth. His first strike is to send his elite robot guards to retrieve a proton accelerator, which would enable him to negate the safty net protecting the hyper tunnel leading to earth. He suceeds, and is on his way!

With the A-Squad SPD rangers fighting the big monster threats, the B-Squad cadets of SPD are promoted to full Ranger status. Sky, Bridge, and Syd gain ranger powers to help defend earth.

To complete the SPD team, former 'Robin Hood' like thieves Jack, and Z join, as they had proven themselves worthy in Battle. This action comes as a blow to the ego of Sky, who felt he was to become the Red Ranger, just like his father.

The A-Squad Space Patrol Delta Power Rangers are sent to the front line of the war against evil, the Helix Nebula. There they fall to enemy forces. With Communications cutoff, the worst is feared, that they have been destroyed. This leaves our
B-Squad SPD Power Rangers, earths last defense.
