DIRECTOR OF COACHING...
KEN HEFNER
Ken has bee instrumental in soccer at every level. He has been a member of 4 different state coaching staffs, has won state youth titles in 3 different age groups, and has developed numerous players that have gone on to play college and professional soccer in US and abroad. Ken has had the distinction of personally working with 7 national team coaches in professional training environments.
On the collegiate level, Ken has immeasurable success. His teams have won conference and regional championships and two of his teams have advanced to national tournament. He has coached 43 all-conference players, 2 conference POY, 2 regional POY, and 11 all-america. He has won 4 conference COY, 2 regional COY, and has been nominated twice for national COY. His resume also includes being 5th all time in the NAIA in career winning percentage and 6th all time in career wins.
Assistant Soccer Coach Brett Rosenberger
Brett Rosenberger joined the Arkansas State coaching staff on June 9, 2001 as an assistant to head soccer coach Ken Hefner. Rosenberger comes to ASU from Nebraska Wesleyan, where he was the head soccer coach and led his team to a 12-5 record during the 2000 season.
Rosenberger has experience at the goalkeeper position from his playing days. He was a standout goalkeeper at Air Force and DePaul. At Air Force, he led the team to two NCAA tournaments including a quarterfinals finish in 1993. At DePaul, he led the team to its most successful season in school history and was named first-team all-conference. He also was an assistant coach at DePaul in 1995.
After college, Rosenberger played for several different professional soccer leagues, including two teams in the A-League (one level below Major League Soccer) and two teams in Germany. In 1995, he played for Rockford Raptors and Florida Strikers of the USISL. He played for the All-Air Force and All-Armed Forces Soccer Teams in 1997-98 before playing for the Rochester Rhinos and LeHigh Valley Steam of the A-League in 1998. He played for the Vfr Osterode 04 in the Germany Landesliga in 1998 before finishing his career on the FC Schonberg 95 in the Germany Regionaliga in 1999-2000.
He married the former Vickie Seeley on June 19, 1999.
