Carrie-Anne Moss, the outstanding beauty in the MATRIX, is a Canadian like fellow co-star, Keanu Reeves.
She grew up with her two older siblings in Vancouver. Because of her experience in musicals, Carrie-Anne knew from early childhood that she wanted to be an entertainer. At the age of 11, she began to perform in the children's musical theater. During her senior year she was chosen to tour Europe with the school choir. After a taste of celebrity life, she set out to become a model. It didn't take long for her good looks to open some doors in the modeling world. Success was almost immediate and it wasn't long until she landed modeling jobs in Toronto, Japan and then in Spain where she shot the first of many international magazine covers.
It was while working in Spain that Moss got her first acting job with the Lorimar/CBS late night series, 'Dark Justice' as Tara McDonald. She stayed for two seasons.
In the few short years since her acting career began, Moss has appeared in 50 hours of television plus two television series prior to 'Model's Inc'. In addition to television, she recently completed a feature film, 'Tough Guy', by director James Merandino, and 'The Soft Kill' with Corben Bernsen. She has guest starred in numerous television series, feature films, and stage. Carrie-Anne has even earned a Gemini Award nomination in the Best Actress category for her role in the TV series, 'Due South'. But it wasn't until her co-starring role in the Matrix that she finally received the recognition she deserves.
