This is a page about the games I love. I have tried to include a
small description, (or review if you prefer...) and a few screen shots
for each. I've even added a link to download the Shareware / Demo
version of each. (if available) If some of the choices seem strange
to you, don't worry, anyone that plays Tribes as much as I've been doing
it lately can't be all that normal to begin with.
The object of Diablo is to create a character and (maybe with the help of a few friends... either by modem, LAN, or Battle.net) destroy the Dark Lord Diablo and free the town of Tristram from the clutches of evil. To do this you get your choice of 3 character classes, (Warrior, Sorcerer, and my personal fave... Rogue.) almost countless weapons, armor, spells, potions, elixirs, amulets, and rings. The game just has to be played to be believed... so if you don't have it, get it. And if you have it but just haven't played in a while, come back. And if you should happen to see ShadowSpawn (lvl 48, rogue) hanging out in the gallery or hacking away in Hell, be sure to say Hello.

They ACTUALLY Releases StarCraft on April 1st 1998.... only about 3 months behind schedule, and I was there in line at the local Electronics Boutique to get it. I must say, although it is a good game, it isn't all that and a bag of chips. If you enjoyed Warcraft 2 then this is the game for you, same interface, more or less, same buildings, same units, same everything, with MUCH better graphics and the choice of 3, vice 2, races. I have finally tried Protoss and am convinced that they are the best race. Some ppl (like AzureRogue, the pansy) say that the Zerg are the best, but who ever listens to AR?. The damn little slimy bastards just hang out and get goo all over everything, including your keyboard. YUCK! I also play Terran if I think I'm going to need some decent defense up front (the Protoss are VERY slow to get on-line... but once they get going they are hard to stop) The game flow is by far the best I have ever seen in a game of this type, none of that jerky, delayed trash you encounter in C&C or WarCraft, it's smoooooth. Game play over Battle.net also seems not to be a problem. Oh, there is the occasional little drag, but lag is much easier to verify up front, so if you create your games carefully you should have no problems. Good sound effects and fairly easy to understand voice-overs (except for the Zerg, but who cares?) make it a fun, nay, amazing, game experience. Sorry I don't have any of my own screen shots yet, but you don't want to see me getting the hell kicked out of me anyhow, so I'll leave the existing ones up for a while longer.

The noble Humans (with some help from the elves, Dwarves and others) take on the power hungry Orcs and their allies for control of Azeroth. What more could you ask for in a 3rd person perspective game? Armies to control, buildings to raze, and a land to conquer. I was a little disappointed by the new mouse interface in WarCraft II at first, but it kind of grows on you after awhile, and it is the same as the one used in StarCraft. There's always the option to use the Warcraft I interface instead... Still haven't managed to finish these on the harder settings, so I'm sure they are impossible. j/k

This game was released on 26 Dec 98 (at least in my area, I guess some ppl got it on X-mas eve, but I was not one of the lucky ones...) and it is AWESOME! Combining the 3D perspective of Diablo with the rules and characters of AD&D (2nd Edition unfortunately, but you can't have everything...) to provide a true RPG experience. Awesome graphics, hundreads of spells, and 26, yes 26, character classes to choose from (I picked a Thief... wonder why? I'm in a rut maybe?) which includes all the Multi-Class and Specialist classes from the AD&D 2nd Edition rules. I've only played it full time for about a day now, so I don't really have much to put here, other than a little warning... DON'T KILL THE SHOPKEEPERS! (don't ask...) For now I'll just include a few screen shots/animations I've "aquired" from Interplay's Page and maybe a link to a Baldur's Gate page or two. Yea, that sounds good. Happy hunting! §8*)
-- Visit Baldur's Gate Dungeon or Interplay's Baldur's Gate Page for more info -- Descent: Freespace: I love this game, but I don't have any info posted on it yet. Sorry, I'll try and be a good little boy and put something in soon. -- Download the Descent: Freespace Demo from Gamespot.com -- Myth: The Fallen Lords: A game by Bungie Software. Sort of like Warcraft or C&C but with much more of a 3D feel to it. Arrows fly in arcs across the sky, Dwarven grenades exploding everywhere and hordes of your minions hacking away at the troops of your helpless opponent. More realistic than most games of this type: Shooting into a crowd of your troops or telling one of your dwarves to attack an enemy in your midst are NOT good ideas, 'cause just like in real life... arrows don't care who they hurt and those damn bombs always seem to do more damage to you than the enemy. With a free multiplayer option (upto 16 ppl per game) on Bungie.net (sounds kinda familiar huh?) that is as close to Battle.net as you are likely to see, they actually go Blizzard one step better; Actual player rankings based on how well you do in all Ranked games (Blizzard has implemented this kind of system on StarCraft, but I must say Bungie did it first... or maybe Ultima did? Well, it wasn't Blizzard...). They also have an un-ranked area, where the games you play don't affect your standings and are just for fun. This game has a lot of promise. The controls are a little complicated. Well... O.K. They are VERY complicated; but each and every one of them does have a purpose, and if you use them all you will be a much better player. For the sake of simplicity I go by the name "ShadowSpawn." (you had to guess that didn't ya?) on Bungie... and I've finally started playing in the Ranked rooms. I'm getting my butt kicked, but what the hell. The game is so good it's even fun when you're losing.

Command & Conquer (and Red Alert): WarCraft in the 21's century. Will you play the GDI or NOD forces? (I prefer NOD), or in the case of Red Alert, the Allies or the Solviets? (Allies here... got to love Tonya ::;:)

MechWarrior2 (and all the expansions): The fantastic 1st person 31st Century Combat game from Activision. This game is pure adrenaline, and the expansions, "Ghost Bear's Legacy" and "MW2 Mercenaries" are everything the original is plus a bag of chips. Play it... Love it... Play it again... If it wasn't for Diablo I'm not sure I wouldn't still be playing these every day, and I still manage to find time to play them at least once a week. In MW2 you choose from the Jade Falcon Clan or the Wolf Clan and help your side to defeat the other in a battle for supremacy in the Inner Sphere. Customizable Mechs (the 20+ ton metal gladiators of the 31st century) and multiple skill levels make this game one you can play again and again. In Ghost Bear's Legacy (an expansion you can only use with MW2) you play a proud member of the Ghost Bear Clan... and battle for the honor of your clan against all comers. More mechs to choose from and smoother playability add to the enjoyment of these missions.
