8 September 2002 The goals and guidelines of an SSRG chapter are defined by the following: 1) Assemble a group of "sixth-scale hobbyists". We define that term as those who use their figures for creative pursuits, such as dioramic photoshoots or detailing/customizing. We are not simply "collectors". 2) The SSRG is non-profit, has no membership fee, and is open to all that share our goals and ideals. 3) The primary activity of an SSRG chapter is to host sixth scale re-enactment photoshoots. These are group dioramas that attempt to portray a specific or general historical event. The goal is to bring the same level of care and accuracy to these events as do "real" re-enactors. To this end the chapter will strive for the highest level of accuracy its membership is capable of, though the enjoyment level of the participants is also of key importance. These photoshoots shall be held at least twice per year. 4) A chapter may choose to host an indoor figure show - and ideal winter activity. Categories and judging guidelines should be standardized between chapters. Contact SSRG HQ for details. 5) Chapters are encouraged to use the SSRG logo for their graphic needs. The tagline "Sixth Scale Re-enactment Group" may be modified to suit the chapter, such as "SSRG: New Jersey Heavy Infantry Division", or somesuch. SSRG HQ can/will modify the logo to meet your chapter needs. 6) Chapters are encouraged to pursue other activities - meetings, swap sessions, BBQ's, museum trips, etc. This helps keep up the momentum between photoshoots and figure shows. 7) Chapters must maintain a website, displaying the club calendar, roster, contact info, links to other chapters, and showcasing the fruits of their efforts. How-to articles are also encouraged. 8) The focus of the SSRG is World War II history. 9) The formation of a new SSRG chapter must be approved by the chiefs of the existing ones. As a general rule, chapters must be separated by a minimum of 200 miles by Interstate travel. 10) Chapter coordinators must be at least 18 years of age and demonstrate their reliability as contacts and their abilities to carry out the duties expected by the local and national organization. |
