The
Mothers' Center of West County (MCWC), in St. Louis, MO, serves
as a forum for women to utilize their talents, knowledge, and experience
as a catalyst for personal and societal development that benefits
mothers and families. The MCWC provides a place and structure for
mothers to come during the day to share the joys and challenges
of parenting and its impact on ourselves and our families.
Our Organization
Opportunities
for participation and involvement include:
- Peer
facilitated discussion groups for the adults on a multitude of topice
relating to child development, parenting, marriage and personal
development;
- Activities
for parents and the children to do together, such as crafts and
exploration of family friendly destinations such as parks, restaurants,
and indoor playgrounds;
- Social
and networking get-togethers, including Moms' Nights Out; weekend
getaways; family excursions, and holiday parties; and
- Meaningful
contributions to the running of the MCWC through program participation,
committee membership and chairing, group facilitating, fundraising,
and publicity.
-Children
are always welcome at the MCWC. During discussion groups, children
can play in their supervised play area or quietly visit with their
mothers in the discussion room.
Group
participants share childcare responsibilities, so there is no childcare
fee. The minimal monthy dues cover insurance and minor administrative
costs.
