Thoughts
on Life: People come and people go. People are
very unreliable. That is the way of the world, and one of
the most difficult things to accept. However, once we do
accept that as a fact, we can then proceed to how we would
like to treat these drifters. I believe that all beings,
ALL BEINGS, should be treated with kindness and
love. Trust is earned. Respect is earned.
These things are earned by the choices one makes in life.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I trust people who
haven't earned it, and I respect people who don't deserve
it. But that is a character flaw in myself, that I
have yet to overcome. I like to see the world at it's best.
I like to view people as worthy of my love and attention. I
like to laugh. I like to look at the stars and think of all
the people who might be staring at the same star. That makes
me gullible, although I am becoming less
gullible as I grow older and wiser. But, as I grow older, I
am privy to certain information previously withheld - like
the Secret to the Universe.

Thoughts
on Love: Ahhhh
love, the most powerful of all emotions (next to
greed, envy, jealousy, and
fear). Okay, I admit it. I'm a pessimist. But,
I am also a writer, and that makes me hopeful.
I love the idea of romantic love, the symbolism, the beauty
and really just the state of mind that accompanies what most
people consider to be love. However, I also think that love
is a term which is grossly misused in the English language.
I believe that most people confuse love with that chemical
reaction to a person who inspires you, whose mere appearance
can set your heart afloat, cause you to write like Shakespeare,
sing like Rob Thomas (I'm a fan), and dance
like...OK, I don't know any good dancers. But, you get the
point. Love, in most cases, is severe lust. The
differences are very slight, and most people don't ever
distinguish between the two. But, I have to tell you...Once
you have loved, truly loved, something or someone or some
thought... Then you will understand.
I believe thar in order to truly love, you must risk it
all: your heart, your mind, your soul. You must be perfectly
willing to have all but the tiniest piece seized from your
being. And so, love is not easily attainable. Since
ADD has become so prevalent in our society, I
fear that love will not be experienced by as many people
anymore...

Thoughts
on People: We draw certain people into our lives
because we have something to learn from them. It could be
that we draw a biased person into our life because we need
to learn understanding. Or we bring a kind person into our
life because we need to learn to be kind. Who knows? It's
all a learning process...

Thoughts
On The Universe:
Why are we here? I think I have this one
pretty much figured out. We are here to learn. To increase
our knowledge personally, mentally, physically and
emotionally. I believe that we enter the world 12
times. That is 12 separate shots that we have to get it
right. Reincarnation? Why not. Who are we to question
the elements of an unknown universe? We rarely get things
right the first time we try, so why should life be any
different? I think we have 4 areas to concentrate on, and
that we are born with certain talents because we have
mastered those areas in the past and kind of "remember"
them. We have certain traits, characteristics, etc. because
they are either things that we have learned in the past, or
things that we are drawn towards because we need to learn
them here and now. Regardless, they are important.
Events occur because we attract them to us. Never
say never, because within a year, it will be never. Never is
not eternity, it is what you are going to end up doing
relatively soon.

Thoughts
on Religion: Religion is an opiate for the
masses. Let me clarify, religion has its place in society,
and as long as it is not misused, taken literally, or
crammed down someone's throat, then I think it is fine. I
believe that spirtuality is much more powerful, true, and
clear than religion. Many people consider them one and the
same, but they are not. Spirituality is a state of mind,
Religion is a state of being. Clearer for you? If not, don't
worry about it. There are many different religions,
Buddhism, LDS, Catholicism, Hinduism, etc. Each of these
people believe that the other regious group is subject to
immediate damnation when the world hits its end. If such an
event did occur, then we would all be in Hell which seems
rather fruitless. And so, I think that every single religion
has a piece of the ultimate puzzle, and the key to
spirituality is locating each group's "piece" and
incorporating that piece into your life. I like to search
for the pieces of the puzzle...

Thoughts
on Dreams: Dreams are
around for many reasons, two of which I feel are most
important -
1. To communicate your
everyday life the way your soul feels it, not your
mind.
2. To act as a voice mail system
from your higher power, whoever or whatever, that may
be.
And so, when I dream, I
examine two things- What event is being chronicled and How I
feel as I am dreaming it.
For example, if I dream that
I am being teased at a school of wizardry by my current
coworkers, and during the dream I am feeling mildly amused,
somewhat irritated, but in control of the situation, then I
know this: I am wrapped up in my work, I enjoy my coworkers
although they have the capacity to annoy me, but I am
generally content in my career and place in life.

on Animals: Animals are a
large part of my life and I feel that it is my duty to
protect them. I take this duty very seriously. Why do I feel
that connection with them? I have no idea. I took a test
once that said my "special superhuman power" is the ability
to communicate with animals. I think there is an element of
truth to that. So, who knows? I do know this, people who
abuse or neglect animals generally have something very wrong
with them. Serial killers abuse animals. Child molestors
abuse animals. Normal, well-adjusted human beings do not
abuse animals. Animal abuse is the one thing that is capable
of infuriating me. So, if you have the propensity to commit
violent acts on animals, stay out of my way...

Thoughts
on Success: Success is
measured by how true you have been to yourself in this
lifetime. Have you lived a good life? Have you refrained
from causing injury to anyone or anything? Have you refused
to give in to other people's wants and whims? Have you
refused to be controlled by situations? Are you happy? Do
you have a good relationship with your friends and family?
Do you try to learn something new every day? If you answered
yes to these questions, then you are probably considered
successful in my book.
