The '98-99 Season

The Saga Lives On...
I'm sorry this took so long to post. My old computer was falling behind as technology progressed. But now that I have my new computer I am able to update more ofter. Perhaps we might even get a scanner now! Anyways, after an overwhelming (well, maybe not overwhelming!) response from people (Tony), I decided to update this page first. This season was a lot of fun (as all seasons are). I carried a lot of responsibility on my back this season and, I must confess, going into it this year I was very scared. But people turned out to be a lot nicer and more understanding than I ever imagined them to be. Without the help and cooperation of the entire band, I don't know what I could have done. Well, this year had a western show. It opened with "How the West Was Won", continued with "The William Tell Overture" and "Hoedown", and ended with "The Magnificent Seven". This year's drum major was Rusty Bluhm and I assisted him. The guard captain was Laura Gibson. This season was different than the past few because this is the first season in a while in which we broke 51 people (the limit for a group 1 band). So, we were a group 2A band. This year we took 3rd place at the Sayerville Competition, 2nd place at Mount Olive, according to Tony Ford we placed 4th at Verona, and 5th place at Giants Stadium. At Verona our roadies placed first (yeah Pat and Chen!). And I think our guard placed 2nd and our drumline placed 3rd at Giants Stadium. Yay band!
