A Christmas Carol (CCP)

December 3-5, 9-12, & 16-19, 1999

Bah Humbug!
Yes, I know what you're thinking: "Sara, you already did this show. You can't deny it, it says so on your web page!" True. True. I already did A Christmas Carol '97 this is A Christmas Carol '99! What's the difference? Well, just a different cast. It used to be an annual tradition to put on this particular production of A Christmas Carol, but after nine years they got tired of it. So they decided to do it every other year. So that's why there was no ...Carol '98. If there was I probably would have done that too.
This is the first show that I worked on for my theatre internship. Now, for those who have been keeping up with my progress and all of the shows I've done over the years you've probably heard me mentioning the internship that I wanted or the internship that I was supposed to get last year. Well, I finally got it this year (even though we've been cheated out of 2.5 credits but I won't get into the politics of it now). I know, it's about time, right? : ) Funny thing, though. I don't really need the credits, and I don't really need the arts credits. I was just going to put it on my college transcript...but I forgot to. It's not like it makes any difference now, right? Oh well.
I was originially planning not to do this mainstage show to fullfill my internship requirement. I was going to do Chess later this season but I fear come May I'm going to have a HUGE case of senioritis and won't want to do it. So I decided to get the mainstage requirement out of the way now. At first I didn't really like being there because I had a lot of fun last time so it was just wierd doing the show again, none of my friends from last time (except Dave Hye) were doing it this time, and I was back on the humbling position of stage crew. But as I made myself make friends I realized that it was pretty cool and there were pretty cool people working there. So now I'm really glad I did it. As I write this I am going through "Carol Withdrawl". I'm actually sad! Can you believe it? I'm sad that this show is over. No offense to anyone who worked on Wonderland or The Crucible with me but I haven't been upset that a show has ended since March with Guys and Dolls. Fancy that. A show I wasn't going to do was extremely worth while!
