Fiddler on the Roof (CHS)
March 24-25, 2000
Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles...
Let me tell you how fast four months fly. I was with this show from the first day of auditions in December to the last performance in March and everything in between (except for those few days I was struck down with influenza...okay, look, I'm sorry...what do you want from me?? Just kidding). This was the show I've been waiting for since freshman year, I was the assistant director. So what exactly did I do? Let's see...line notes, blocking, prompt book, called the show, teched almost by myself (yay Dave!), attended (nearly) every rehearsal, and maybe other stuff that I can't think of right now. It was tough, more work and stress than I could have ever dreamed, but it was so worth it! So many great memories, good times, new friends, you get the idea. It's hard to believe that this is my last CHS show and, quite possibly, my last show in Chatham. Not to mention it's weird for me to think of everything I've done in theatre for the past four years. Stage crew, sound operator, props, ASM, stage manager, wardrobe (I'm now have strange reactions to bleach fumes, thank you very much), and finally the AD. *Sigh*. Oh well, it's sad but I'm not devastated because I'll still be doing all of this for (hopefully) the rest of my life. As for the underclassmen, I hope you all keep doing theatre, even if it's just a high school hobby. Theatre (and other artsy stuff) can teach you so much more about life than any class or office job can. Keep it up and you'll never regret it. Okay, enough of my preaching, enjoy what could be my last entry here. : )
