Guys and Dolls(CHS)
March 26-27, 1998
Sit down, you're rockin' the boat!
Oh, so sad! My first CHS show in which I didn't do props. I got over it really quickly though, as I saw that my prop proteges, Matt and Fiona, did an awesome job! What did I do then? You may or may not be asking? I was one of the stage managers (or ASM in professional terms). I still went to a good number of rehearsals towards the end of the run in order to take line notes. Which was oh so much fun. Yeah right, but someone had to do it. Like I said before, I helped Matt and Fiona out with props (although they did most of the work). It was really funny to watch them slowly realize what being prop mistress (or master) means. Example: both Matt and Fiona (Matt more so) started off over zealous and way too eager to do props. Honestly, I though it was wierd until I remembered that I was exactly like that back during ...Brodie. But then during Wonderful Town I soon learned my lesson. These guys had a slower come around (probably because they started off with a musical as opposed to a straight show). Needless to say, I laughed when I heard Matt getting frustrated and Fiona begin to raise her voice more. Apparently she can talk (just kidding!)!
Like always, I helped build, paint, and...of course...prime! After a long and arduous campaign run, I am proud to announce that "It's Prime City, and I'm the mayor"! Better luck next time Jeff, but believe, the job is harder than it seems. Finally, I was on headset during the show and manned stage left. A wise man in my youth taught me well (a.k.a.--Bob Schell influenced me when I was a wee frosh) and told me that "stage left is better than right anyday". I hope I was able to uphold this honor. So, feel free to wander through this section. If you're wondering about "Skiffs and Cobies", why don't you click on it?
