Sardines!
This show was too much fun! It was so difficult for all of the actors but they were able to bring it together at the last minute to have two outstanding performances! There were audience members who saw the show twice because they loved it so much. Anyways, I was prop mistress again for this show. But, alas, never again (oh well!)!. There was a lot to do in terms of props for this one. We needed at least four plates of sardines. Well, they actually weren't sardines, they were black and orange Halloween gummy worms that we glued onto the plates. In any case, the set was massive as well. It was built to have two floors and eight doors. The challenge with this set was that the show was about a theatre company. In Act One we needed to see the characters play out their characters in the show they were doing. You know, it was a show within a show. In Act Two we saw the show being performed from backstage. So the set needed to have the illusion of being behind the scenes. So, the door flats were switched around in a big scene change between acts and it appeared that the set was turned around. In the final Act, the show was being seen from the front again so we needed to switch around the flats one more time. It was difficult, but it really worked!
