The "Program" to the 1998 CHS Pops Concert
I recieved a funny e-mail a bit back from Jeff Kohl. It has to do with the CHS Pops Concert, an annual end-of-the-year arts/music department concert that features the CMS and CHS jazz bands, the select choir, some theatre skits, and some dance numbers. Anyway, in an attempt to advertise the concert, Jeff (who was in the CHS jazz band) listed the headliners:
-The all-nude revue "We Know How To Swing" starring the CHS Jazz Band and featuring Jason Scott
-Excerpts from Mr. Conti's original theatrical drama "Why???, and Common Exclamations" (a one-man show!)
-The Adam Scott Show, formerly known as the Jazz Band
-A poetry reading by your favorite embodiment of evil and mine, Ms. Gotta!
-And who could forget Troy's tear-jerking, award-winning rendition of "On My Own" from Les Misérables (get your tissues ready)
And if you thought that was funny, here's the actual program:
-The CHS jazz band, nicknamed "Estrogen Deprivation," performing more than twice the songs done at any other concert. God bless the brass players' lips!
-The CMS jazz band, which looks good until the CHS jazz band goes on, usually performing at least one of the same songs the CMS band viciously butchered and righteously upstaging them
-The Percussion Ensemble, making its debut appearance, featuring too many freshmen drummers and a handful of non-drummers who aren't sure why they're even there (i.e. myself (Jeff), Don Spidell, and Pete Wood) playing strange music
-Some dance performances (who knows???)
-And, the only quality group in the bunch, the Select Choir
But seriously folks, I'm just kidding (about the Select Choir). But if you're not doing anything, it would be cool if you, or anyone else, could come watch. What else do you do on a Tuesday night??
Jeff
What would you do on a Tuesday night??? Dawson's Creek!!! :)
