There's that word again...Time
This was a very cute show and I'm sad to see it end. Albeit, yes, it was no Noises Off or All's Well That Ends Well, but both cast and crew did have a lot of fun. This was the first show (outside of NJSF) in which I was the Assistant Stage Manager. It wasn't hard at all. I went to the rehearsals once the actors were off book and I gave line notes once (and everyone was real appreciative of that!). The actual crewing during the show wasn't difficult at all. I had my boys, Pete and Brett, help me out and they were great (even though they were sometimes reluctant to do a scene change once they were comfortable on the couches). This show was a lot of fun for many reasons but I guess it was best put by Kevin (our lead). He told us that he enjoyed this show because everyone worked really hard to do each of their jobs. No one slacked off and that's what made the show both successful and fun. Because when everyone does their share, there is extra time for the fun things. Aside from the great cast and crew, what I will remember from this show is that this was my first (and I hoping not last) opportunity to call a show. What this means is that I took on the responsibilities of a stage manager for one show. This included sitting up in the lighting booth and giving out the light, sound, and scene change cues as we came to them on the headset. I was very nervous at first (I had a hard time spitting out the first few cues because my voice had tremors in it). But, as the show progressed, I got into it and it was much fun! Let's hope to many more chances to do this throughout my life!
