Wes Janson was born on Tanaab, an agrarian planet where Lando Calrissian got his reputation as being a pretty good military strategist, during the battle of Tanaab. Wes grew up there and then joined the rebellion, first flying with the Yellow Aces at Tierfon where he show that he was a superier flier, he also showed very good sharpshooter skills and gained the status of "True Gunner".
When flying with the Yellow Aces achevied his first kill: a rebel pilot. Wes' first kill was Kissek Doran, Kell Tainer's(Doran's) father. Wes and Jek Porkins were both serving in the Yellow Aces and were both forced to shoot Doran down because Doran got scared of a squadron or two of ties and decided to take off but the Yellow Aces had to keep comm silence and couldnt be detected by the enemy or else they would be destroyed so Wes was ordered to get him back or shoot him down so he shot him down after he and Porkins tried other things. This ties later into Wes' life but ill talk about that later.
After the Yellow Aces Wes was going to fight in the battle of Yavin but right before he came down with a strain of Hesken Fever and couldnt fly so Porkins took his place and thats when Jek Porkins was killed. I've heard that this haunts Wes later on because he would have been in Porkins place and maybe he would have died AND Porkins wouldnt have died if he hadnt have gotten sick but anywayz(!!!)
Later on Wes becomes a member of Rogue Squadron under Luke Skywalker and serves as Wedge Antilles gunner in the battle of Hoth. In Rogue Squadron he was known as Rogue five. When the Rogues were ambushed at Distna under the command of Wedge Antilles, he was thought to be dead but he wasnt and Wedge was reportedly very very very very very very happy that he was still alive. Wes also, non-militarily, served as the comic relief for Rogue Squadron, Wraith Squadron and many others. Wes is also known for his HUGE ego, for example: hes always talking about his stunning looks or his unsurpassably good shooting skills or whatever hes just accomplished. Hes also known for being very immature. He has been compared to a nine year old, and there were no differences found.
He has served many Squadrons including Rogue Squadron and Wraith Squadron. In Wraith Squadron he had a conflict with one of the pilots: Kell Tainer or Kell Doran. Wes had earlier killed his father and the Doran family changed their family name out of disgrace. Tainer admited that he had no right to hold a grudge against Wes and they remained squadron-mates. After Wedge became a General, Wes transfered back to Roque Squadron.
