As you’re beginning to make out, a lot of Muh’s upbringing involves Dimension W in one way or another, whether he knew it or not.  But what is Dimension W? And why does he go by the name of Muh? These things were becoming clearer as time went on…
It was of course during this same time period with The Transformers that the marvel comics were out, (for three years already.) He didn’t know it at the time, but the minor comic strips at the back of each issue, Robo Capers, was to be one of the many influences for a future comic book series he
wouldn’t think up for another few years. (See below)
Other memorable programmes like Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors came out during this time period.
But for the time being he also began to create quite a few of his
own Transformers comics. But time soon took its toll. Muh got fed up with drawing them and they were soon disposed. (Don’t let that happen to you! Keep all your comics!)
Also in this period, another original idea was forming, which many things inspired, from ‘A-Team’, ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Isle of Wight Entertainers’, ‘His Friends’, and ‘Boon’, starring Michael Elphick.
They all inspired the creation of ‘Boonal’. The story takes place in a strange world called ‘Boonalland’. The story was established when after a young man washes ashore on a raft, he comes across someone who calls himself Shut-Up. They become friends and the young
man, Boonal is told everything about this land and how it has been taken over by mysterious green skinned spiky haired men. From then on Boonal begins to search to find out who his parents are, and unintentionally meets more friends along the way across the plains of Boonalland. He meets Tummy, a strong man who drives a van known as ‘The Mean Machine’ (A parody of the A-Team van), and many others. He and his new friends; ‘Tummy’, ‘Muck’, ‘Wizz Bizz’, etc. then decide to get together and form an alliance against their Spikehair foes. Boonal, who keeps a diary of his father’s, decides also to start selling chocolate to the people of South Boonalland (which his father apparently did before him) and becomes famous, attracting more and more people to join his alliance. People like ‘Billy Chegar’ ‘Custard’ and ‘Mustard’, parodies of ‘Isle of Wight’ entertainers he knew from his holidays in 1988. He continued to write the odd idea for Boonal events until the Muncher comic idea came about around 1989. He never actually wrote the events, but after many years of writing and drawing these on-and-off stories, it is apparent that Boonal and the Gang succeeded in getting rid of the evil rulers, who escape back to their own world. Many more characters were invented during the years and more ideas cropped up, but that’s all they ever were: ideas.
