Personality Profile

The oldest child of Cargo/transport workers, Carla learned early, life was hard, and things were not just given to you. The family moved from transport ship to transport ship all over the galaxy, hauling anything from spent reactor cores to human cargo. Her parents were far from the perfect ‘Federation civilian’. In fact, Carla’s parents did their damnedest to dissuade Carla from pursuing Star Fleet as a career in life. Her parents lived for the day, experience the now, and don’t worry about the future.

From an early age she learned the inside out of many different warp core set-ups. Being a small but intelligent child she was used as a ‘gopher’ in hard to reach areas. By the age of 12 she a vast working knowledge of most of the systems on the transport her family worked on. As her family jockeyed about from ship to ship, Carla found the only way to make it bearable was to learn everything she could about the new ship.

As she got older, Carla realized that her parents’ philosophy of live for the day, was not her way. She saw her younger sibling becoming just like her parents, stuck in low level jobs never knowing when the next meal would come when out of work. She vowed she would prove to her younger siblings that they could aspire to something more.

It was on the deep range Transport Ocalla that she met it’s captain, a retired enlisted Star Fleet Chief Petty Officer, Jordan Taylor. He was impressed with Carla’s determination to get past the future that her parents wanted for her.  It was with Taylor’s help that Carla was able to apply for and eventually receive a commissioned scholarship to Star Fleet Academy.

She had no idea what having a ‘home’ meant until she started at Starfleet Academy. It was there Carla knew she had found her ‘home’.

Languages: Federation Standard, Vulcan, and a little bit of a lot of others she picked up in her youth.

Service Record

2368 – USS Denver: Ensign Yanos had only been aboard for a few months when the Denver struck a gravitic mine in late 2368. Suffering only minor injuries, she along with many of the engineering team worked non-stop to make the ship space worthy to allow it to limp to the nearest space dock. She was awarded a recommendation for promotion for vigilance of duty.

2670 – Starbase 431 – Now a Lt jg. She was assigned as an assistant Engineer, and served there for two years.

2672 – USS Lexington – Promoted to full Lt. at the beginning of this assignment, she spent the next five years aboard in the Engineering department. Three years into her tour she was made chief engineer when the current engineer was promoted out to another ship.

2676 – 2677 Star Fleet Command Officer Enrichment Course. This was a highly intensive Command regime instituted to fill the need for more Command officers.

2678 – Graduated from the enrichment course, promoted to Lt. Commander and assigned as Executive Officer to the USS Algiers – Tour of duty to patrol the demilitarized zone.
