This group will go down in history as one of the best rap groups ever. I guarantee it. They were around in a time when it was cool to rap about bitches, blunts, and killing. Now, the blunts aspect is cool, but the rest of it is sort of out there. Not to mention that killing is illegal. Anyway, they used looped drums, looped music, which was usually some jazz song, because they are cool like that. I really like jazz, and they make it even cooler. Just because they are rapping with it. Yeah, and Q-Tip is a great rapper, and then he'd trade it off with Phife Dawg, and it was seamless. They were freakin' great at it. They confronted issues about racism, the rap business, it's all there. I like it. And with Scenario, they brought out some guy named Busta Rhymes, who would sort of become popular in the future. That song also featured some guy named Redman, who would also have a little success in the future. I really like them. That song is great. That's all.
Stand out tracks: Excursions, The Rap Promoter, Verses the Abstract, Show Business, The Infamous Date Rape, Jazz, Scenario.
Great stuff. Oddly enough, I think I like this album more than any other rap album, but somehow it is ranked after two others. Maybe I'll change that someday. Or maybe I'll leave it because that would require some work.
