Music » Dashboard Confessional » The So Impossible EP
Well, this is maybe one of my favorite albums ever. And it's four freakin' songs. I don't know why I like it so much but I do. If you must know the truth, I have to go with: at the time of me purchasing and listening to this album, I had a girlfriend. And this album differs from other Dashboard Confessional albums by actually being positive. It's all about going out with this girl, and the first song is about just wanting her to see him and realize he is in love with her and whatnot, and the second is about them arranging the date. It's pretty cool 'cause he is like, I really hope she likes me and everything. I really like that. The third song talks about what he is going to wear to the date. That's pretty much it. It talks about how he wants everything to be and how she will dress also, but yeah, not too much. And the music is only three chords, and they're open chords at that, so it is a really minimal song. I freakin' love that. The last song is maybe my favorite song of all of Dashboard's songs. I really really like this one. It's about during and after the date, and I really think it, at least for me, captures how you feel whilst going out with a girl. I think that might be because I'm not all about getting some and I'm more for actually having a girlfriend and liking her and whatnot, but I could be wrong. I think this song is great though. A nice ending of a perfect date. That's what this album is. It starts off as a hopeful wish, and ends happily. That never happens in real life, but at least art immitates ideal life. That's about it actually. Laters.
Stand out tracks: For You To Notice, So Impossible, Remember To Breathe, Hands Down.
Wow, I really like this album. For some reason it reminds me of running around Dresden during track season my senior year. That and driving around at night during the final few months of my senior year, listening to this album. Good memories.
