Music » Further Seems Forever » The Moon Is Down
Okay, everyone has heard of Dashboard Confessional, and probably heard of their lead singer/guitarist/the only reason they exist: Chris Carrabba. Now, before he was in el Dashboard, he was in a few other bands. And the most important of those is the Vacant Andys. No, not really. It was Further Seems Forever. Borrowing from everything from the Beatles to Led Zeppelin to Nirvana to Sunny Day Real Estate, they gained a sort of signature sound. You wouldn't notice it at first, but after a while, you notice the little melodies and such that they throw in there. It's great. Not to mention that Chris is a phenominal lyricist. Here's a weird thing I noticed. People say "not to mention," but when they say that, they are mentioning exactly what they say they are "not to mention"-ing. How weird is that. One more thing about them: they sort of don't follow the standard structure of songs, meaning verse verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus etc. They have verses and that's about it. Everything is sort of abstract. That's cool.
Stand out tracks: The Moon Is Down, The Bradley, Snowbirds and Townies, New Year's Project, Pictures of Shorelines, Wearing Thin.
I like them. I really like Chris Carrabba. I think he could just take a crap on a cd, and I'd not only buy it, but enjoy it.
