:: Led Zeppelin II:

Music » Led Zeppelin » Led Zeppelin II

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IIWell fuck, I really really like this album. Even if they weren't the most talented collection of musicians ever to form a band, maybe other than the Traveling Wilburys, they would still kick everyone's ass as solo artists. I really really like them. The reason Led Zep II is on here and not IV, is because there are a few songs on IV that I sometimes skip over when I'm listening to the album. I NEVER do that when I'm hittin' up this album. I just can't. Every song has an awesome solo on it. Every song is driven by probably the best rhythm groups ever in John Bonham (drums) and John Paul Jones(bass). Jimmy page is THE BEST guitarist out there. No one can match his combination of speed, skill, diversity, and ability to write a good sounding solo. I know there are others out there that know more about guitar, can play faster, and are more skillful (Yngwie Malmsteem, Steve Vai, etc.), but I do not think they can write better solos. All of his solos sound great, and they fit the song perfectly. And Robert Plant is a great vocalist, even if he dressed all gay. It was the 70's.

Stand out tracks:Whole Lotta Love, What Is and What Should Never Be, The Lemon Song, Thank You, Heartbreaker, Living Loving Maid, Ramble On, Moby Dick, Bring It On Home.
