Music » The Strokes » Is This It
Okay, I had heard of the Strokes probably by about January of 2001. I never thought about it or anything, but then I saw something about them again, and I went to el CD store to see if the had an album or anything. I bought the only album they had there, and it just so happened that I bought it on the day it came out. How weird is that? Anyway, I listened to it a very slight amount, then I listened to something else for some reason. Then that Friday, I listened to it after I dropped 'Drew off, and I fell in love. I remember that day well: I went to pick up 'Drew because we were going to a football game. It was against John Glenn. I don't know how I remember that, but anyway. Either way, I remember really really liking the bassline to "Is This It," and I still really really like it. Umm, I then told Kris and Cody, because I knew they would both like it, and then we went to see them in concert, and we met them. And then after the show, we met Albert Hammond, Jr. It was fucking awesome. When we me all the guys, it was just a "Hey, hi." When we met Albert, he talked to us for like, 15 minutes or something. It was fucking awesome. That's all.
Stand out tracks: Is This It?, The Modern Age, Soma, Barely Legal, Someday, Alone Together, Last Nite, Hard To Explain, When It Started, Take It or Leave It.
I really like them a lot. They combine the older sound of bands that I love with the punkier sound of bands that I love. It's great. Not that you care.
